En effet, selon le quotidien sportif, Amadou Ndoye Ndiaye, dit «?Zamadou?», et Babacar Guèye, alias Pape Camara, ont décidé de se retirer au profit de Mbaye Diouf Dia, président de Mbour Petite-Côte.
Cette décision résulte d’une alliance conclue entre les camps de Me Augustin Senghor, président sortant de la FSF, et Mady Touré, qui ont choisi de soutenir un candidat unique afin d’éviter la dispersion des voix et de mutualiser leurs forces.
Il ne reste désormais que trois candidats en lice : Mbaye Diouf Dia, Thierno Kosso Diané et Iyane Thiam.
Les deux derniers sont réputés proches de Abdoulaye Fall, candidat à la présidence de la FSF, laissant présager une nouvelle confrontation avec le tandem Senghor–Mady Touré. Record rappelle que cette alliance avait déjà permis d’éliminer un autre candidat lors du récent scrutin à la Ligue professionnelle.
