El Hadji Assane Demba est connu des services de police. Libération rappelle qu’il «avait été arrêté courant 2013 pour avoir ‘volé’ les identités numériques de Macky Sall, Cheikh Amar, Yérim Sow. Depuis lors, il s’était fait discret jusqu’à l’arrestation de Kocc Barma».
Initialement, Demba a été retenu dans les locaux de la DSC pour nécessité de l’enquête. Mais il sera finalement placé en garde à vue pour association de malfaiteurs, collecte illicite de données, diffusion de données à caractère personnel, atteinte à l’intimité de la vie privée, entre autres griefs.
