Al-Azhar Al-Sharif a annoncé sa solidarité avec Idrissa Gana Gueye, pensionnaire du PSG, club de football français, et a dénoncé la campagne de la Fédération française de football contre la star du football sénégalais.
L’Observatoire Al-Azhar pour la lutte contre l’extrémisme rejette les tentatives d’abuser des compétitions sportives et artistiques pour faire passer certains agendas et normaliser l’homosexualité, contraires à l’instinct humain, appelant chacun à participer aux efforts individuels ou collectifs pour contrer ces tentatives.

Le communiqué ajoute que conscient de la gravité de ces mesures, L’Observatoire Al-Azhar contre l’extrémisme soutient la position du joueur sénégalais qui a été convoqué par la commission d’éthique de la Fédération française, sur fond de refus d’enfiler le maillot du PSG floqué aux couleurs de LGBT contre Montpellier lors de la 37e journée de la Ligue française.
L’observatoire a souligné qu’obliger le joueur ou toute personne à adopter une position spécifique contraire à son désir, à ses convictions et aux enseignements de sa religion contredit la Déclaration des droits de l’homme et les valeurs de liberté prônées par les sociétés européennes.
